[Appeared on RGJ page 11 with caption:] THIRD TITLE to be used for Robert Laxalt's novel of Basque life in Nevada is "Baskische Heimkehr" (Basque Homecoming) chosen by Christian Wegner Verlag of Hamburg, Germany, publisher of the German edition which Laxalt recently received. Originally titled "Sweet Promised Land," the book was published by Harper Brothers in 1957, and was the first choice of two book clubs and the alternate selection of a third. It was published in England by Secker and Warburg of London as "Dominigue" and was the choice of the Book Society of England. An Italian edition is now under discussion. (Gazette photo)

The Nevada State Journal (founded on November 23, 1870) and the Reno Evening Gazette (founded on March 28, 1876) were combined on October 7, 1983 to create the Reno-Gazette Journal (RGJ). The collection contains negatives of photographs taken by Reno Gazette-Journal reporters from 1959-2003 for use in news stories.
