Photograph of a tree with cleared ground underneath it. On the left side of the image are two people standing. Caption attached to verso: Burial place of three men. Dr. James knight Born July 11o', 1776, died Jan. 1848. A native of Maryland, of English decent. Married (in Penn) Martha Seals (widow of Benj. Smalley) she was a native of Pennsylvania. Died in Danville Ill., there burried. Had eight children. Dr. James Knight came to Texas when he was 71, for his health. Lived one year. He is burried two miles north east of Round Rock, near Brushey river, under two trees, now on the Nelson Farm, and in view of paved highway. Dr. William Knight, son of Dr. James Knight. Born Apr. 28, 1799, died Feb 11, 1851. he married Mary Anderson Baugh. She is burried in Georgetown, Presbyterian cemetary. Great aunt Martha Alleys first husband ___ Macomson was the third person burried under these trees. He came with his father (in law) bringing his family. (The stones are broken and bent. Cattle have browsed over it.)
