The Reno branch of the firm has operated since 1944 and is one of 17 branches in the mountain west and southern California. The branch office moved from basement quarters in the Riverside Hotel where it had been located since 1947.

Collection Description
The Nevada State Journal (founded on November 23, 1870) and the Reno Evening Gazette (founded on March 28, 1876) were combined on October 7, 1983 to create the Reno-Gazette Journal (RGJ). The collection contains negatives of photographs taken by Reno Gazette-Journal reporters from 1959-2003 for use in news stories.
