[Appeared on RGJ page 9 with caption:] ENTRIES FOR the Flower Show at the Washoe County Fair last weekend were numerous and outstanding. In order to keep the displays attractive fresh flowers were brought daily. Pictured left are three prize-winning arrangements of live flowers. Left, Mrs. Les Connolley 2nd place in 'Fairest of the Fair'; center, 1st place in 'Fire-works Arrangement' also by Mrs. Connolley and right, 1st place 'Fairest of Fair' by Barbara Summers. Picture on right is first place winner in 'Soda Pop', a dry arrangement composed of sour dock, milkweed, and tansy arranged in an old white pottery ale bottle.

The Nevada State Journal (founded on November 23, 1870) and the Reno Evening Gazette (founded on March 28, 1876) were combined on October 7, 1983 to create the Reno-Gazette Journal (RGJ). The collection contains negatives of photographs taken by Reno Gazette-Journal reporters from 1959-2003 for use in news stories.
