[Appeared on RGJ page 6 with caption:] TRUCK LOADED with 5 radios, 2 television sets, record player, 30 records, 18 shoe shine kits, 5 bicycles, bicycles parts, wagon, tricycle, $50 tools, for the workshop, is ready to go to the Nevada State Children's Home in Carson City. Funds amounting to $507, were raised by the local Talent Show given at the State Bldg., Oct. 3 by Mr. and Mrs. Wm. A. (Bill) Windle who are pictured here loading the truck. A juke-box and 80 records donated by the Rex distributing Co. is not shown. Electric corn poppers, wagons, tires and tubes also purchased are not shown. Thanks is given by Mr. and Mrs. Windle to each business house and individual who helped in any way to make this venture such a wonderful success.

The Nevada State Journal (founded on November 23, 1870) and the Reno Evening Gazette (founded on March 28, 1876) were combined on October 7, 1983 to create the Reno-Gazette Journal (RGJ). The collection contains negatives of photographs taken by Reno Gazette-Journal reporters from 1959-2003 for use in news stories.
