Last run of the Tonopah & Tidewater Railroad at Shoshone, California. The group of people standing next to Locomotive No. 8 accompanied California State Senator Charles Brown on this journey. He is the second from the left.The woman at the far left holding the camera is Geneva "Sis" Gertrude Gilliam Kelly, and the woman at the far right is Murriel Cleta Gilliam Welsh. Third from the right is Senator Brown's wife, Stella Fairbanks Brown. The man second from the right is Senator Brown's son, Charles Brown, Jr. The building in the background currently serves as the sheriff's office in Shoshone.
