[Appeared on RGJ page 36, 32 with caption:] NEW TO NEVADA is the Art Kaye Comedaires at the Kit Carson club in Carson City. This versatile trio does slapstick, impressions and plays fine, danceable music. Leader Art Kaye on sax and clarinet started his career under the guidance of his aunt, the one and only Sophie Tucker, Herb Brennan plays drums and is a perfect foil for Art's comedy, while Jerry Barchus rounds out the talent at the piano.; THE AMES BROTHERS and 'Friend.' Pictured above are the Ames Brothers, top recording quartet now starring in the Olympic Room of the Riverside hotel, with their good friend and staunch booster, Marilyn Monroe. That's Marilyn in the middle.

The Nevada State Journal (founded on November 23, 1870) and the Reno Evening Gazette (founded on March 28, 1876) were combined on October 7, 1983 to create the Reno-Gazette Journal (RGJ). The collection contains negatives of photographs taken by Reno Gazette-Journal reporters from 1959-2003 for use in news stories.
