[Appeared on RGJ page 8 with caption:] ONE OF THE MANY trophies to be awarded in this year's Reno Rose Society Show on Saturday, June 20, is the John Sanford Perpetual Trophy to be awarded 'Queen of the Show,' the rose conceded by the judges to be best in show. Mrs. A. R. Waller, general chairman, is pictured above with the sterling silver bowl used as a container for an arrangement of Red Delight roses. The winners will be announced at the show which will be open to the public between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m., on June 20 in the Second and Virginia St. branch of the First National Bank of Nevada.

The Nevada State Journal (founded on November 23, 1870) and the Reno Evening Gazette (founded on March 28, 1876) were combined on October 7, 1983 to create the Reno-Gazette Journal (RGJ). The collection contains negatives of photographs taken by Reno Gazette-Journal reporters from 1959-2003 for use in news stories.
