[Appeared on RGJ page 10 with caption:] AN INVITATION to all parents to attend "Family Night" at Sparks High School was extended this week by new officers of the Sparks High Parent-Teacher Association. The open house event is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m. and will take the place of the regular P-TA unit meeting. All departments of the high school will be open during the evening and parents of all students are invited to take advantage of this special occasion to meet their children's teachers. New officers (l to r) are Wally Kurtz, publicity; Mrs. Russell Pope, second vice president; Richard Wright, first vice president; Mrs. J. J. Sbragia, president; Valdar Wilt, treasurer, and Mrs. Oliver Hanson, secretary.

The Nevada State Journal (founded on November 23, 1870) and the Reno Evening Gazette (founded on March 28, 1876) were combined on October 7, 1983 to create the Reno-Gazette Journal (RGJ). The collection contains negatives of photographs taken by Reno Gazette-Journal reporters from 1959-2003 for use in news stories.
