Johnson coached the Wolf Pack for the 2000 through 2004 seasons. Over his five seasons at Nevada, Johnson led the Wolf Pack to 79 wins. Johnson was inducted into the Nevada Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013. Johnson coached the Wolf Pack for the 2000 through 2004 seasons. During the 2004 NCAA Tournament, the Wolf Pack defeated #7 Michigan State University and #2 Gonzaga University to advance to Nevada's first ever Sweet 16. In 2004, Nevada won both the WAC regular season and the tournament championships. Johnson was inducted into the Nevada Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013 and the 2003-04 team was inducted in 2016.
