Item Description
This view shows the University Entrance Gates near Morrill Hall (on the left), the flag pole (in the middle), and the President's House (on the right). The campus entrance gates are located at the southern end of campus, where Center Street crosses Ninth Street and then turns into a campus driveway. The original gates were built as gifts by early university graduating classes, and their year marks of '98' and '01' can still be seen on the original stone pillars. Today, the entrance is much wider than its original version, and the original stone walls, wrought iron gates, and light posts are gone.
