Unknown [Angel of Reno]; Unknown [Nature]

Christina Angelina's mural, painted during the Inaugural Reno Sculpture Fest in 2015, features a young female figure wearing a dark grey hood over her long wavy black hair. She looks directly at the viewer, and holds a silver frame against her body. The mural was painted using a palette of blues, grays, silver and black and using a technique wherein the paint streams down from the very top of the mural to create movement in the composition. Due to the mural's considerably large scale (approximately 35 x 80 ft.), spanning the entire height of a seven-story parking garage, the young woman seems to look down upon or watch over the downtown-Reno area. After being told by a homeless man in Reno that the young woman is his angel, Angelina said: "That people sleep under this artwork to feel safer downtown [m]akes me like this piece even more" (https://www.instagram.com/p/BUx2SQUlhIj/?hl=en&taken-by=starfightera). The mural on the right was painted by artist Ricky Lee Gordon during the Inaugural Reno Mural Expo in October of 2017. Gordon painted a female figure with the word "nature" hovering over her. Gordon uses dark colors to obscure the woman's face. The woman represents the Native American community in northern Nevada and the importance of conserving nature. A messages in the lower-right corner of the mural reads "Nature Conspires with Spirit to Emancipate Us."
