Craig and Yolande Sheppard stand next to the completed model for the bronze sculpture of Senator Pat McCarran created by Yolande. Craig Sheppard was a prominent Professor of Art who arrived to the university in 1947. Yolande Jacobson Sheppard was a sculpture artist whose work has been exhibited in many art shows, museums, and universities although she was not as well known as her husband, Art Professor and renowned artist, Craig Sheppard. One of her more well-known works was the bronze statue of Nevada Senator Patrick Anthony McCarran, seen here, created for the National Statuary Hall collection in Washington, D.C.
