Item Description
The Fremont Cannon is the largest "rival trophy" in America. Kennecott Copper donated the Fremont Cannon in 1970 as a replica of a howitzer cannon used by John C. Fremont’s 1843 Nevada expedition. The winner of the “Battle for Nevada” football game between UNR and UNLV is awarded the trophy for one year. The cannon is no longer operational.
