Dining Hall, 1908

The caption on the image reads, "University Dining Hall" (Halftone print, 5 x 7 inches). The Dining Hall was built in 1905 in the space where Juniper Hall stands today. In 1960 it was made into the Campus Infirmary but was torn down shortly after for the building of the new Juniper Hall dormitory. This picture was included in the "Book of Views", a publication intended to provide a glimpse of university life. Information about the facility was listed under "Table Board" and read as follows, "For the accommodation of the students, the President of the University maintains a dining hall in commodious quarters built especially for it between Manzanita Hall and Lincoln Hall. The dining-hall equipment and service has been recently reorganized with a view to securing board and table service of the most acceptable character. The price of table board for the coming year will be $16 a month, payable in advance."
