Agriculture Building (Frandsen Humanities) and Manzanita Lake, ca. 1925

Later called Frandsen Humanities, the Agriculture Building can be seen with the Education Building and Library in the background behind Manzanita Lake, left to right (photographic print, 4.75 x 6.75). The Agriculture Building was built in 1918, named after beloved biology professor and 1895 graduate Peter “Bugs” Frandsen. The building housed classrooms and laboratories for the College of Agriculture, as well as for Home Economics, until they both moved into other buildings in the late 1950’s. The building then became home to the departments of Philosophy and Foreign Language until it underwent a two-year remodel and reopened in 2000 to house the Department of English.
