[Appeared on RGJ page 7 with caption:] PLANS FOR the annual meeting of the Nevada Library Association on October 9 and 10 were discussed at a recent conference of the Board of Directors for the Friends of the Library. Also discussed was the membership drive, culminating with a membership tea October 18. The directors are: (standing, left to right) Mrs. George R. Lill, publicity; Mrs. Mary Murry, vice chairman of the board; (seated) Mr. William Andrews, head librarian, Mrs. Carl Backerman, secretary; Dr. Andrew Rice, chairman of the board; Mrs. Raymond MacMillan, treasurer; Miss Mary Poole, assistant librarian.

The Nevada State Journal (founded on November 23, 1870) and the Reno Evening Gazette (founded on March 28, 1876) were combined on October 7, 1983 to create the Reno-Gazette Journal (RGJ). The collection contains negatives of photographs taken by Reno Gazette-Journal reporters from 1959-2003 for use in news stories.
