Item Description
The Winter Carnival Committee poses together in a living room while looking at a piece of paper. Committee members are identified left to right: Harry Mangrum, Bill Adams, Braden Stouts, Mike DeWees; sitting, left to right: Beverly Ricketts, Toni DeReynier, Shelley Branch, Gloria Urriola; kneeling, left to right: Chuck Harrison, Carnival Chairman. The Winter Carnival started on campus in 1939 and was an annual event where students participated in all kinds of winter activities, including skiing in the nearby Sierras, ice skating on Manzanita Lake, and electing Winter Carnival royalty. The event still happens on campus today, although in a much more tame version of free hot chocolate and carnival games.
