Item Description
Each of these three garage doors, painted by artist Joe C. Rock, contains one of the three components that make up the proverbial principle: speak no evil, hear no evil, see no evil. The principle is phrased on the doors as "Speak, Hear, & See." On the first door, a man covers his mouth with his right hand, a letter of the word "LOVE" is tattooed on each finger. A lady bug rests on the base of his thumb. A red banner outlined in gold with the word "Speak" painted in white covers his eyes. On the second door, a man covers both his hears with his hands. A black widow crawls downward in front of his left hand. The word "Hear" appears in white on the red banner that wraps around his head, covering both of his ears. On the third garage, a man covers his eyes with his left hand. A worm on a hook attached to a line that carries through the entire mural is laced through his fingers, each of which have a letter of the word "Hate" tattooed on them. The words "& See" are painted in white on the red banner that covers the man's mouth. A bee with a crown (a common object in Rock's murals) floating above its head flies in the upper-left corner of the third door.
