Item Description
This view of the Desert Research Institute shows the sign hidden amongst desert brush. The Desert Research Institute (DRI) took form in 1959 in accordance with a Nevada State Legislature bill, and the first building housing the Reno branch was finished in 1962. DRI focuses on environmental research for the Nevada System of Higher Education and today houses over 500 employees throughout two main campuses in Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada.
