Item Description
Workers use a crane to move beams into place creating the structure of Lawlor Events Center (photographic print, 8 x 10 inches). The Lawlor Events Center opened in 1983. It holds 11,200 seats for Wolf Pack men’s and women’s basketball sports fans, while additionally hosting other events such as concerts and Winter Commencement. The building is named in honor of Glenn "Jake" Lawlor, an alumni of the university who returned in 1942 to coach multiple sports and became Director of Athletics in 1959.
