Item Description
Devin Hosselkus' signal-box mural depicts various individuals in a city-like setting (perhaps downtown Reno, given the location of the box just north of the Virginia Street Bridge over the Truckee River). In the foreground of the front side of the box is the profile of a person with gray hair and purple skin, wearing a green shirt and brown paints, apparently walking towards the left. In the background and what appears to be across the street, from left to right: a person wearing a white shirt and blue pants sits on a wooden bench; a man wearing a white tank tops looks across the street; a man with blue skin, wearing a white shirt and brown pants walks towards the left; a person wearing a maroon shirt walks in the opposite direction; a person wearing a white bandana, black shirt and gray pants has their back turned away from the viewer. A body of water (presumably the Truckee River) flows under a bridge and street lights behind and to the right of the person in the foreground. On the left side of the box, a street and crosswalk, with its wide white lines, is depicted. Two brown birds appear in the lower-right corner.
