Item Description
This music-themed mural behind Recycled Records was painted by a group of youth who are part of the Children's Cabinet's "Spray Positive" program. This program was instigated by the Reno Police Department, in collaboration with the Children's Cabinet, as a way to beautify blighted properties in Midtown and Downtown Reno. On the left is a large magenta piano. In the middle, a man wearing a teal fedora, pink shirt, and blue sport coat plays the trumpet. On the right is the abstract profile of a person listening to music on Beats-by-Dre headphones. A curvy music staff flows through the background of the entire composition with green, red, pink, blue and yellow music notes and treble clefs floating along and around it, while a curvy thread of black and white piano keys flows through the foreground of the composition, eventually morphing into the wire that plugs into the headphones.
