[Appeared on RGJ page 14 with caption:] CHOSEN White Cane chairman for the Nevada Federation of the Blind this year is Mrs. Nina Orcutt, above, whose appointment has been announced by Mrs. Verle Chapman after a meeting held this week at Mrs. Orcutt's home. The Nevada Federation of the Blind will hold it's annual White Cane Drive next May to raise money to carry on educational, legislative and social programs for the blind. White Cane Day will be observed by the South Reno Lions Club this month.

The Nevada State Journal (founded on November 23, 1870) and the Reno Evening Gazette (founded on March 28, 1876) were combined on October 7, 1983 to create the Reno-Gazette Journal (RGJ). The collection contains negatives of photographs taken by Reno Gazette-Journal reporters from 1959-2003 for use in news stories.
