A group of unidentified young men participate in Cane Rush on Mackay Athletic Field with one using a crutch in the foreground. Cane Rush was an event where sophomores and freshmen were pitted in a game of strength and agility wherein a cane had to pass through the opponent team and reach the end of the Quad. Cane Rush was part of early university hazing often harshly done from upperclassmen to lowerclassmen.
