Item Description
The main entrance to the Laxalt Mineral Engineering building is viewed from the Quad (photographic print, 5 x 7 inches). The Paul Laxalt Mineral Engineering Building was finished in 1983. Costing $11 million, this building replaced the Electrical Engineering Building that had occupied the space since 1911. The building houses classrooms and laboratories for mining, chemical, and materials engineering, as well as the Nevada Seismology Laboratory, the Keck Mine Ventilation Lab, and the Newmont Rock Mechanics Lab.
