Unknown [Beau Shaver Tribute]

In this collaborative piece painted by Erik Burke, Kelly Peyton, and Kaitlyn Bryson, a male figure wearing dark blue jeans and a yellow tank top lays on his back in front of a blue background with hands interlaced and resting on his stomach. It appears as though the man is floating. In the bottom-left corner of the mural, circular, triangular, other geometric shapes, and dashes are painted on the man's pants in a shade of blue lighter than the pants and more like that of the background. Similar shapes are painted in marigold yellow on the man's shirt, as are figures fashioned out of the letters "L" and "D" and the number "4" (L4, D4); these figures represent the phrase "Live for What You Would Die For." These figures, and the phrase they represent, likely relate to the theme and purpose of the mural, referred to by one if its painters, Burke, as a tribute to Beau Shaver of Reno, NV who is also likely the man depicted in the mural. The man also has various shapes (hearts, roses, the outline of a crown) and words painted in yellow on his arm, neck, face and teeth. The background of the right side of the mural is painted in graduated shades of blue (light to dark, from the bottom to the top). An upside down brown hat appears in the lower-right corner of the mural, it has currant-red-outlined-in-yellow flowers sitting on the brim and one flower peaking out from inside. Burke's moniker (OU33), the other two artists' initials (KP and Kb), and the date (2012) are painted in white in the upper-right corner of the mural, with "L4D4 SODC SHAVER" painted below. The mural is 80 x 16 ft.
