Item Description
This photograph shows a part of the Mackay Silver Collection showing a spirits stand with glass carafes. The $2 million collection belonging to university benefactor Katherine Mackay, the mother of university benefactor Clarence Mackay, and the wife of famous miner John W. Mackay, began as a permanent collection loan to the University on Mackay Day in 1959. The collection is still housed in the W.M. Keck Museum inside the Mackay School of Mines.
