Item Description
This photo shows the pathology laboratory of Walter McNab Miller, the first science professor of the University of Nevada who began teaching at the university in 1887. Miller taught biology, geology, geography, chemistry, physics, and mathematics as well as managed the Bureau of Weather Observation, did field work for the Agricultural Experiment Station, and lead drills for the Military Science Department. His later years focused on anatomy and physiology until he left the university in 1900.
