Audiences gather for Cane Rush with the caption on the image reading "Among those present." Mackay School of Mines can be seen in the background. Cane Rush was an event where sophomores and freshmen were pitted in a game of strength and agility wherein a cane had to pass through the opponent team and reach the end of the Quad. Cane Rush was part of early university hazing often harshly done from upperclassmen to lowerclassmen (photographic print, 3.25 x 5.5 inches).
