Item Description
This photograph of the Cane Rush event shows Morrill and Stewart Halls in the background (left to right) with the caption on the image reading, "Spectators at Cane Rush." Cane Rush was an event where sophomores and freshmen were pitted in a game of strength and agility wherein a cane had to pass through the opponent team and reach the end of the Quad. Cane Rush was part of early university hazing often harshly done from upperclassmen to lower-classmen (photographic print, 3.25 x 5.5 inches).
