Day Dreaming

As its name suggest, this mural by artist Joe C. Rock depicts a man daydreaming as he lays (or floats) on his back in (or above) the grass underneath a sky populated by white-puffy clouds. A butterfly perches on his Davey-Crockett-coonskin hat that floats away from his head, which has another butterfly perched on it with another butterfly flying slightly above it. A lit cigarette floats away from his mouth, and a bluebird perches on his blue jacket that has the Nevada state seal on the upper right arm. A raccoon crawls between the man's lower legs towards a black book with a blue and white "Hello My Name Is" name tag on it; "Joe C." is written on the name tag. The book is attached to a line that wraps around the man's left leg and has a hook with a worm attached that dangles in front of the bluebird. A tiny pair of eyeglasses floats between the worm and bird. To the right of the book, a marmot-like animal with a crown (a common object in Rock's murals) floating above its head stands on its hind legs in the grass facing towards to man. Behind the animal, in the distance, there is a green house with power lines suspended on poles overhead.
