[Appeared on RGJ page 8 with caption:] INDTRODUCED BY Mrs. Ben Edwards, Earl Horton, New administrator for the Washoe Medical Center lauded the group for their outstanding contributions to the community and to the Medical Center. In his new position for a week, he stated that upon being shown what had been accomplished through the league's efforts he felt it was one of the best accomplishments that he had seen in his experience. In speaking about the hospital, Mr. Horton said, "rarely does one find such high standards (as in Reno) in a medical group - and that includes the staff, the facilities, and the Women's League." The Nevada State Journal (founded on November 23, 1870) and the Reno Evening Gazette (founded on March 28, 1876) were combined on October 7, 1983 to create the Reno-Gazette Journal (RGJ). The collection contains negatives of photographs taken by Reno Gazette-Journal reporters from 1959-2003 for use in news stories.
