Item Description
Mack Social Science and nearby buildings are viewed from the south. The Mack Social Science Building was opened in 1967, housing multiple departments such as History, Sociology, and Political Science. It was named after university donor and local historian and educator, Effie Mona Mack (1888-1969). Hilliard Plaza, also known as the Lower Quad, was built in the space where the Mackay Athletic Field used to be located. Starting on its west side, the plaza is surrounded by the Mack Social Science Building, the Reynolds School of Journalism, Schulich Lecture Hall, the Chemistry Building, and the Ansari Business Building.
