[Appeared on RGJ page 8 with caption:] SCULPTURED PORTRAIT is presented to Dr. Charles J. Armstrong, President of the University of Nevada by sculpturess Mrs. J. Craig Sheppard who is known professionally as Jolande Jacobson, Mrs. Armstrong commissioned for the portrait head which took 5 sittings to complete. This latest work of Mrs. Sheppard succeeds the famous full figure statue of Senator Pat McCarran which she completed this last summer.

Collection Description
The Nevada State Journal (founded on November 23, 1870) and the Reno Evening Gazette (founded on March 28, 1876) were combined on October 7, 1983 to create the Reno-Gazette Journal (RGJ). The collection contains negatives of photographs taken by Reno Gazette-Journal reporters from 1959-2003 for use in news stories.
