Flying goose pattern burden basket: rigid, close twining, simple twining (z-twists), composite trim; simple twined end selvages with double terminal warps folded at 90-degree angle with single element (.5 cm) wrapped on. Design: two contrasting colors (light and dark brown), dark base 7.25 cm up from start, double element overlay, light background with dark zigzags; last 1.5 cm next to rim is two alternating materials in simple twining, incorporating two warp elements each. Leather handle 26.5 cm long (.5 to .75 cm) attached to rim.

Collection Description
This digital collection represents baskets from the University of Nevada, Reno Department of Anthropology's Huber collection. Lulu K. Huber collected nearly 600 baskets made by Native American weavers from roughly 1840 to 1930, including pieces by weavers from Washoe, Paiute, Shoshone, Bannock and Ute peoples in the Great Basin and by weavers from more than 25 Native American peoples elsewhere in the West.
